- Include all generic conventions of a magazine (price, date and barcode)
- Medium shot photo used for the cover page
- A clear heading with unusual font
- Keep consistent house style throughout
- Plain background used on cover page
- Use different colours and fonts to differentiate articles
- Student should be a positive role model
- Use a range of 3 colours
- Engaging subheadings
- Images relating to theme/subject
- Make sure model is facing light source

Print- preliminary exercise using DTP and an image manipulation program produce the front page of a new school college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally candidates must produce DTP mock-up of the layout of the contents page.
